The best way I have found to cook cauliflower is by steaming it… To steam cauliflower we need a large pot with a steamer basket and a tight fitting lid. Pour about 2 inches of water in the pot and place it on a hot burner and bring it to a boil…
Place cauliflower on your cutting board. Trim off the leaves and some of the core, leave enough core to hold the head together. Place the cauliflower into the steamer basket and place over the boiling water .Cover with the lid. Cook for about 10 minutes
To test for doneness:
Stick a utility knife into the cauliflower. If it slides in and out easily… it’s done. If it’s too hard cook for another minute or so and test again…
To serve:
Place the cauliflower on a plate and season simply with olive oil, salt and pepper. Cut into quarters
