Swedish Meatballs

Swedish Meatballs

This is a good straightforward meatball recipe that works great for parties.


3 pounds ground beef
2 poundes ground pork
1 cup minced onion
1 tablespoons minced garlic
1/2 cup sliced green onion
1 tablespoon horseradish
5 eggs
3 tablespoons Steak Spice
1 cups grated parmesan 

Brown Sauce - see sauce chapter
Sour Cream
fresh dill (optional)


Place all ingredients in a large bowl. Mix well.

Roll into little meatballs, arrange on a half sheet pan in rows. 
It's OK to place them close together, they will not rise.

Bake at 350-degrees for about 20 minutes.

I like keeping the meatballs small so they cook all the way through without becoming crusty on the outside. 
I prefer cooking them in the oven instead of a skillet, because there is less baby sitting and they end up tasting better.

Serve smothered in a sauce made of:
Brown Sauce, sour cream, horseradish and fresh dill.

*This recipe may also make awesome meatloaf!
