Potato Chips w/ Blue Cheese Dip



Homemade Potato Chips are Easy

Ingredients

Homemade Potato Chips 
4 large Idaho or baking potatoes, peeled 
frying oil at least 3 inches deep 
salt and pepper to season

Food Guru's Bleu Cheese Dip 
1 1/2 cups mayonnaise 
3 tablespoons buttermilk 
2 oz Budweiser Beer 
3 teaspoons FG's Steak Spice* 
1 pint Blue Cheese Crumbles

Process

Homemade Potato Chips 
Start with large Idaho or baking potatoes and slice them as thin as possible. You can use a mandolin, knife or potato peeler. Place the potato slices in a bowl of cool water for about 10 minutes to get rid of their starchiness.

Drain the water from the chips, dry on paper towels and deep fry in 350-degree oil until they are golden brown and crispy. Transfer to paper towels to drain. Sprinkle with salt and a little pepper while they are still warm.

Food Guru's Bleu Cheese Dip 
Place one cup of mayonnaise in a large bowl. Add buttermilk, Budweiser Beer, and Food Guru's Steak Spice. Add a whole pound of Maytag Bleu Cheese Crumbles. Mix together and let it sit in the refrigerator for at least an hour. Serve with the Food Guru's Homemade Potato Chips.

* try sprinkling a little lime juice on the chips before adding salt, the juice helps the salt stick and adds an interesting flavor dimension to the chips.
