  • Who am I & Why am I here?

  • What is my restaurant?

  • What does my restaurant do for my community?

  • Does the community even know that I’m here – Do they even care?

  • Would they miss you if you closed tomorrow?

  • How can my restaurant – serve the community – BETTER?

  • How can (WE) – OUR TEAM – serve the community BETTER?

  • How can I become a better LEADER and better serve my TEAM and therefore – serve MY community – BETTER?


Let me ask you this - What is your personal financial goal? How much money do you really want to make? Do you want to scrimp by at $50K. 60K or $70K - OR do you want to kick it up and earn - $200K or $500K?


Here’s one thing - I know with 100% certainty and that is that you can’t afford to pour in more money to continue to feed your restaurant. Most restaurant owners (I’m talking about 95% of you all have the same exact thought every day and that is to STAY ALIVE… To get thru today… AND that breaks my heart. Because I know how you feel, I’ve been there myself.

BUT – today as we enter 2020 I want to talk about - your real secret goal – you know the one that you WISH you could have – the one that you swallow and keep to yourself and don’t share with anybody… Because it’s TOO audacious. THAT’s the goal I want to help you achieve. This is a NEW DECADE… THIS COULD BE the YEAR – This could be YOUR year!

Today we are going to talk about – how to re-imagine your restaurant. I am going to ask you some who, what, where, when and why questions– think of these questions as mind stretching exercises, to get your mental juices flowing… and get you thinking in a forward direction


WHO - QUESTIONS.

  • WHO – are you and why are you here?

  • WHO – do you secretly wish you could be?

  • WHO – is your market?

  • WHO – ARE your customers or clients and what do they want?WHO – taught you how to do – what you do? Did they teach you the right way to do it? AND is that way still relevant today?



WHAT - QUESTIONS

  • WHAT – is your restaurant concept?

  • WHAT - type of restaurant are you – OR are you trying to be?

  • WHAT – are your goals – are you achieving your goals?

  • WHAT – is holding you back?


WHERE - QUESTIONS:

  • WHERE – are you in relation to where you want to be.

  • WHERE – can you make changes and adjustments – to get back on track – to achieve your goals.

  • WHERE – is your restaurant? Baby, Toddler, Teenager, Adult, Senior Citizen?


WHEN - QUESTIONS:

  • WHEN – are you going to step up and take the bull by the horns and make things happen

  • WHEN – are you going to take the actions you know you need to take?

  • WHEN – are you going to contact me – so I can help you move forward to the light?


WHY QUESTIONS:

  • WHY - did you start your restaurant – what was your GRAND vision – your goal?

  • WHY – do you and your people do things the way you do?

  • WHY – do you charge half the price for lunch that you do for dinner?

  • WHY – is the chicken dish on your menu half the price of a steak?

  • WHY – can’t you change the way you do things – what is holding you back?

  • WHY – are you listening to this podcast?


HOW QUESTIONS:

  • HOW – will people be doing this is 2030?

  • HOW – Can you increase your sales by 10% Twice in the first quarter of 2020?

  • HOW – Can you do it again (over) the next three quarters or 2020?


IN CONCLUSION:

Ladies & Gentlemen – fellow restaurant owners, managers and chefs – it’s a new year and a new decade - it’s time to think BIG. It’s time to raise our thinking from a survival, competitive mindset to a NEW CREATIVE anything is possible mindset…
