Encouragement

My goal is the teach restaurant owners and managers like you, to focus on Eight Basic Fundamentals that lead to a better life and financial freedom.


A Little Encouragement Goes a Long Way

Encouragement is the action of giving someone support, confidence and hope. Encouragement is contagious like a GOOD virus, the goal of encouragement is to spread it to everyone you come in contact with.


This is a Three Step process that starts with you. Then, it goes to your people. Then, it goes to your customers, guests and clients.


STEP ONE:

The Process Starts with you, the person you see in the mirror every morning. I have a short note on my phone that I read each morning, and I’d like to share it with you.


It goes like this:

Today, I will build a better restaurant.

Today, I will encourage and empower those around me to strive to improve by 1%

Today, I will become a better coach and leader.

I will do today’s work, today. I will be 1% better than I was yesterday.

When I do this I know that I will become 300% better every year.

Today, I will take one more tiny step toward building the best restaurant – ever.

I have been doing this for a while and I think it’s starting to help.

I encourage you to do something similar to encourage your - self.


STEP TWO:

The second step is to give the gift of Encouragement to your people, your family, your managers and employees. Think about this, when you chew a waiters ass for screwing up, what happens? They go out and serve that pile of negative energy to the customer, right?


When you give them encouragement and positive energy – they serve that POSITIVE message with LOVE!

1. Encouragement is uplifting, inspiring and motivating.

2. Encouragement radiates from one person to another like a raging forest fire.

3. Encouragement is a drug that keeps your people coming back for more and more and more.

4. The word encouragement comes from old English, it means to make strong, to hearten.

In Greek it means to build up and instill confidence. To tell people what they NEED to hear.

1. Most people think encouragement is a lot of fancy flowery feel good talk.

2. Encouragement isn’t always fun, but it is - always REAL!

3. The goal of encouragement is to help you and your people grow.


STEP THREE:

After you give encouragement to your people, they can help you spread it directly into the mind of the customers. It’s True!

1. We all need encouragement.

2. We must Encourage our customers to have fun, to live a little and try something new and different.

3. Encouragement is like a drug.

4. Encouragement is addictive

5. Encouragement and positive energy will bring your customers back over and over and over again.


IN CONCLUSION:

I have some encouragement for you – the person listening to this podcast. The restaurant business is one of the toughest businesses on earth. We all have days when we don’t know if we are going to make it through. AND, we have days when everything turns up aces.


My advice is - When you are going through hell, DON’T STOP – DON’T STOP - No matter what - Keep Going! The only way that you will ever lose is by giving up.

Never, Never, Never Give UP.


Encouragement is like Karma. It starts every morning in the mirror and goes to your family, and then to your people and then to your customers, guests and clients. The cool part of Karma is, it always comes back full cycle like a boomerang. AND, when it comes back, it will be bigger and stronger than when it left. This encouragement will empower you to be more, to do more and also to give more. Encouragement, now that’s a virus worth spreading.
