2 cups jasmine rice
2 1/4 cup water
Wash the rice by swirling it with your fingers to remove some of the starch
Drain off the water, notice how it is very cloudy
Fill the container about half way with cool water, rinse and drain two more times
Now the water should be clear... If not rinse again.
Cooking the Rice:
For best results we want a little more than equal parts of water to rice
For 2 cups of rice, add 2and a quarter cups of water
Remember there is still some remaining water left in the bowl from rinsing
This will give us about 2 ½ cups of water to 2 cups of rice
If you going to be off… I would rather have too much water and soft rice which I can still use
As opposed to not enough water and hard rice…
Here’s a good tip:
Dry the bottom of the cooking bowl with a paper towel so you don’t get water into the cooking element and burn it out…
Place the bowl in the cooker, cover with the lid, and push down the button…
The rice will cook, when it’s done the cooker will turn itself off and the rice will hold perfectly until we’re ready for it.
This is perfectly cooked jasmine Rice!
* experiment with the water / rice ratio until you get it perfect for you.
