Basil Chiffonade



Chiffonade is a fun French word, it means to slice or shave razor thin

Ingredients

Fresh Basil Leaves

Process

To  chiffonade basil…
remove the leaves from the stems and stack on top of each other
Roll them into a tube like this

Then slice the basil razor thin

This is basil chiffonade

It is perfect for salads and finishing sauces.

Like all fresh herbs, basil should always be added at the end of the recipe so the flavor stays vibrant and doesn’t wimp out.
